PROPER CARE. BETTER RESULTS.

Prepare & Aftercare

A little preparation means a safer treatment, less discomfort and better results, and your results depend on proper aftercare. Here's everything, in one place.

Before tattoo removal

YOUR SKINGet the area ready

  • Avoid sun exposure: stay out of direct sun and avoid tanning for at least 2 weeks before your treatment.
  • Do not shave or wax: no shaving, waxing or hair-removal creams on the tattooed area for at least 3 days before.
  • Keep it natural: no creams, lotions, oils, makeup or deodorant on the tattooed area on the day of your treatment.
  • No picking or scratching: irritating the area increases the risk of irritation or scabbing.

YOUR BODYSet yourself up

  • Avoid blood thinners (if possible) such as ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E and St John's Wort for 3–5 days before treatment.
  • Stay hydrated: drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your treatment to support healing and recovery.
  • Health & medication: tell us about any medical conditions, medications, allergies or history of keloid scarring.
  • Tattoo information: know the age of your tattoo and any previous removal treatments. Older tattoos and black ink respond best.

*Check with your doctor before stopping any medication.
